of women committed to promoting volunteerism,
developing the potential of women and improving the
community through the effective action and leadership of
trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational
and charitable.
n

in southwest Missouri.

Funding
Since 1959, The Junior League of Springfield (JLS)
has contributed over 1.3 million volunteer service hours
(averaging 20,000 annually) and over $4.6 million to our
community. We fund and develop new projects designed
to benefit Springfield, which include a city emergency fund,
grant opportunities, leadership training for our members
and scholarships for area women. Some programs the
Junior League helped develop include:
• Boys and Girls Club
• Ozarks Public Television
• Child Advocacy Center
• The History Museum of the Ozarks
• The Springfield Ballet
• Ozarks Food Harvest
• The Discovery Center of Springfield
• Isabel’s House
We strive to continue raising funds through our events,
Endowment Fund, the Plaid Door Resale Boutique and
Annual Campaign.

Volunteer Opportunities
Become a Junior League Member: The Junior League
membership experience provides a rich opportunity to
increase an individual’s impact through collaboration
with others in an organization. Our association is rooted
in the belief that a group of focused women can be
a powerful force for change in our community. Our
current membership of 600+ women, Board of Directors,
Management Team, and committee leaders are poised
and determined to make a difference in our community
for years to come. Our members begin to apply their
unique abilities and talents to better the community the
minute they choose to join JLS. Many JLS women have
applied their League training to lead other local, state, and
national community organizations. If you are interested in
membership email jls@jlspringfield.org.
Become a Community Partner Organization – JLS
partners with many local organizations for volunteer
opportunities throughout the year. These partnerships
allow the League to maximize our volunteer impact while
providing much needed support to other area non-
profits. We provide volunteers for a single day of service
through our Done-In-A-Day projects along with creation
and execution of a more long term, Done-In-A-Year
project. If you are interested in partnering with JLS please
email communityimpact@jlspringfield.org.

Testimonials
“Junior League has been a valuable tool in my life. It
has empowered and trained me to be a leader not only in
my community but also in my career. It is a great place to
meet other professional women, network, learn valuable
skills, and make quality friendships. I have learned if we
all are trained well we can make a huge impact in our
community.”
— Heather Goller
“Choosing to be a member of the Junior League of
Springfield 11 years ago sits toward the top of my “good
decisions” list. I find empowerment and a sense of
belonging when I am attached to any strong organization.
This one continues to fill my soul. Feeling valued is such a
critical state we all need to be in. I get this with the Junior
League. The service I give is welcomed, appreciated and
utilized. That’s hard to beat.”
