How People & Businesses Can Help
The Salvation Army is one of the most efficient and
effective nonprofit organizations around. $.82 of every
dollar goes directly to supporting vital local programs and
services. Outright gifts such as cash, securities, and real
estate, or tangible property can benefit The Salvation
Army’s programs here and now. Charitable gifts, annuities,
remainder trusts, bequests or life insurance policies are
also a few ways you can leave a lasting legacy for future
generations.
n
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are so vital to The Salvation Army that
they are often referred to as ‘the army behind the Army’.
Volunteers ae needed year-round to help with a variety
of tasks such as serving meals, bell ringing at a red kettle,
distributing food, providing transportation, answering
telephones and much more. Join the hundreds of local
volunteers who help us help those in need. Call 417-862-
5509 ext. 116 for more information.

Testimonials
“Lee had a colorful past that included drugs and alcohol.
This time, he was ready to turn his life around. With the
help of The Salvation Army Harbor House, he was able
to do just that. Through regular case work, Lee was able
to finally take control of his life and his health. Lee lived
in the Harbor House for eight months and in that short
time he was able to secure his own apartment, start
receiving eligible benefits, and began attending church
every Sunday. He now volunteers and encourages other
homeless individuals to take control of their lives and seek
the help they need.”
