2015-2016 Odessa City Guide

Welcome to the City of Odessa! As someone who has lived here my entire life and has decided to
raise my family here, I can say this is a wonderful place to call home. Odessa maintains its small-
town atmosphere yet still has quick and easy access to the Kansas City Metropolitan area. We take
great pride in our small town’s history, however, we are very excited to progress into the future, grow,
and make Odessa an even better place to visit, own a business, or just to settle down.
Odessa has several amenities for people of all ages and
interests.Weboast a top-notch school system
that provides our children with a quality education as well as numerous extra-curricular activities to
keep them active and to further expand their minds. Our Parks and Recreation Department provides
numerous activities and programs to help keep people of all ages active and healthy year-round. We
also are very proud of our many locally owned businesses so I encourage you to visit some of them;
you won’t be disappointed. If faith is important to you as it is to my family and me, Odessa has several
places of worship covering a number of denominations, so I hope you will visit ones that interest you,
talk to the staff, and eventually find one to plug in to.
There are several exciting things happening currently and several planned for the future of our
community. I invite you to stop by City Hall and find out what’s going on and if you live here, become
involved, invest in, and give back to YOUR community. Whatever your reason for being in town, my
prayer is you will find Odessa a great place to call home.
If I, the Board of Aldermen, or City Hall staff can ever be of any assistance, do not hesitate to
contact us.
God Bless,
Adam R. Couch
Mayor
