Maple Elementary, 3-5

Enrollment 435 students

Maple Elementary provides a rich

reading environment where students

find reading opportunities in classroom

libraries, the Media Center and the

Wonders Literacy Program which

provides cross-curricular ties to social

studies and science. Envisions math

program emphasizes critical thinking

and problem solving. Hands-on science

program utilizes Next Generation

Science standards.

Each classroom is equipped with an

interactive board or Mobi. There are

four computer labs and four mobile

carts of chrome books. Students learn graphic arts, coding, Google

suite, Microsoft suite and keyboarding.

Principal PeggyTiffany was honored as the Kansas City Suburban

Elementary Principals Association distinguished principal of

2017.

Oak Grove Middle School, 6-8

Enrollment 475 students

Students and staff at OGMS are in

an environment created for middle level

learning. This building houses grade

levels separately. There are numerous

class offerings, both as required and

elective classes. Students are able to

participate in many extra-curricular

learning opportunities from basketball,

football, band, scholar bowl and

intramurals to name a few.

The Charlene Roscher Early Childhood Center

Enrollment 80 students

Students at the ECC qualify through a screening and/or testing

process at the age of three years and the ECC serves ages 3-5, prior

to attending kindergarten.

Monthly screenings are also provided at the center for children

ages 3-5.The early childhood staff can use this as a tool to determine

if other services are needed.

The services provided are through federal Title I programs

and Early Childhood Special Education. The building houses

Early Childhood Special Education, Title I preschool, Parents as

Teachers,Speech andLanguageTherapy andOccupational Physical

Therapy.

Building hours are 8:25-11:25 a.m. and 12:25-3:25 p.m. Monday

through Thursday. Call 690-3762.

Oak Grove Primary, K-2

Enrollment 430 students

At the Primary, staff provides challenging

learning opportunities for students in all the

content areas. Special focus is concentrated

on literacy skills such as reading strategies,

reading comprehension and writing for a

variety of purposes. In math, emphasis is

on problemsolving including computational

accuracyandwritingtoexplainmathematical

reasoning. Technology has been integrated

across all the content areas, and every

classroom is equipped with an interactive

board and student computers or tablets.

Music, art, physical education and library

education provide students with opportunities to develop skills and

strengths in various fine arts areas. Character education is a main

focus each year.  

District decision-making is

placed in the hands of the Board

of Education.

Board meets at 7 p.m. on the

fourth Monday of each month

in the Early Childhood Center.

These meetings are open to the

public.
