American Legion Auxiliary Post 379 Founded in 1919, the focus of The American Legion Auxiliary is that of Service, Not Self, in fulfillment of the mission to sup- port the American Legion. American Legion Auxiliary Post 379, Oak Grove, has been meeting for more than 76 years. Auxiliary members meet at 7 p.m., the third Monday of each month at the American Le- gion located at 1209 S Broadway. This year, the Auxiliary has 66 members. In fulfillment of The American Legion Auxiliary Post 379 mission, various activities are conducted throughout the year. The Auxiliary welcomes newmembers. Those eligible for mem- bership are the wife, daughter, granddaughter, great-grand- daughter or sister of those who have served during conflicts dating back to World War I. All male descendants, adopted sons and stepsons of members of the American Legion, and such male descendants of veterans who died during World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, the Persian Gulf War and the War on Terrorism are eligible for membership.
