DIR CTORY

Look around you. If you’re doing business in the Springfield region,

you’ve probably already noticed what the Springfield Area Chamber

of Commerce has been saying for years: There is a lot of economic

growth happening in our community, and it’s thanks to the hard

work from thousands of businesses just like yours.

As you browse this Book of Lists and keep it as a valuable reference

on your desk, you might be surprised at the array of industry sectors

represented. But that diversity of industry is one of the keys to our

strength. We at the Chamber work every day to be the voice of all

our members, and truly as the voice of business in our community.

We’re laser focused on growing the economy, creating jobs and ex-

panding economic opportunity for everyone who lives here. On the

following pages, you’ll see our member directory, listing the organi-

zations that we support by advocating for a healthy business climate.

We work to serve job creators through our four strategic areas of focus: creating growth, taking action,

getting connected and developing our workforce. And as we talk to our members about their future and

their needs, the response is consistent and strong: The local economy is set up for continued strength.

But recruiting, attracting and developing the right people remains a significant challenge, which is why

we have made workforce development one of our top priorities. From our GO CAPS student develop-

ment program to our Talent Attraction Initiative, we’re looking to address the issue frommultiple angles.

We’re also hard at work advocating for numerous improvements at the local, state and federal level de-

signed to help maintain a business-friendly environment and pave the way for growth and development.

It’s critical that we keep these efforts going especially now, so that we can strike while the iron is hot

and our region’s employers are in growth mode. In the last year alone, the Chamber and its economic

development arm, the Springfield Business Development Corporation, helped to create more than 1,000

new jobs with more than $36 million in new payroll and $73 million in new capital investment.

If we remain focused on our efforts, we’re positioned for continued prosperity in the coming years. And

the Chamber is working to lead the way toward continually improved quality of life for everyone—built

on the strength of our businesses.
