2024 Evolution | Paid Advertising SPRINGFIELD BUSINESS JOURNAL 30 • 2024 EVOLUTION A new, locally developed app called Movrr is working to transform the way smallscale construction logistics are managed by serving as a marketplace for construction logistics, connecting users with providers who are ready to serve them. The inspiration for Movrr struck when creator and founder Yaro Shevchenko was faced with the seemingly simple yet challenging task of moving multiple 2,000-pound ecology blocks for a local project. The process of finding a reliable and cost-effective mover proved to be time consuming and frustrating. “I just kind of wished I knew somebody here locally, or that I could just post it somewhere and have people come to me,” Shevchenko recalled. This wish sparked the creation of Movrr, a user-friendly platform where anyone can post their moving needs and receive proposals from service providers. Movrr isn’t limited to moving heavy blocks. It encompasses a wide range of construction logistics, including the delivery of materials like gravel, dirt and topsoil, as well as the rental of dumpsters. Users simply post their needs and details including drop-off address, quantity and any other specific requirements, and service providers respond with proposals. This system significantly streamlines the logistics process, saving time and effort. “You just post it once, let everybody come to you, and then boom, done deal,” Shevchenko explained. Users can easily compare multiple bids and choose the best option without endless follow-ups and negotiations and without spending hours online or on the phone trying to find the best option. The inclusion of carrier profiles with reviews adds an extra layer of trust, ensuring users can make informed decisions. The app serves two primary types of clients. The first is the end user, often fix-and-flippers or small developers who lack the specialized infrastructure of larger companies. The second group comprises the service providers themselves, such as independent dump truck operators or hot shot drivers looking for local jobs. Movrr sends leads out to these providers, helping them maximize their work opportunities. Feedback is crucial to Movrr’s development and Shevchenko is committed to keeping the app as user centric as possible. “We’re only currently here in Springfield because I want to get a lot of users and a lot of carriers and just get feedback from everybody,” he said. This local focus allows Movrr to refine its features based on real user experiences before considering a broader rollout. While the current focus is on Springfield, there are plans to target larger markets within Missouri and eventually, nationwide. The phased approach ensures that each new market has a solid base of users and providers, maintaining the app’s effectiveness and appeal. The app is currently free to use for both users and carriers. “Right now, it’s completely free to use for everybody,” Shevchenko noted. However, he acknowledged that this will change, with a reasonable monthly rate introduced for carriers in the future. This move aims to sustain the platform while ensuring it remains free for those users needing services. Movrr is a practical solution born from real-world challenges, designed to simplify and improve the logistics process for smallscale construction projects. As Shevchenko aptly put it, “We’re trying to build something that adds actual value for people, something everybody can use.” Revolutionizing Small -Scale Construction Logistics Movrr Website: Movrr.com Email: yaro@movrr.com
