Work so far has included demolition of existing construction and minor interior renovations, plus the addition for the safe room and a connecting corridor linking it to the main building, according to information provided by DeWitt & Associates officials. Construction will include a prestressed concrete wall and roof system, concrete and masonry finishes, metal stud walls, and an aluminum storefront and entrances, plus interior finish work. The project is funded by Proposition S, a $220 million bond issue passed by voters in April 2023.
