Toth and Associates, Inc. (TOTH) extends warm congratulations to Louis Toth (Lou) on his well-deserved retirement. Over his five-decade career, Lou has achieved remarkable success with his innate kindness, thoughtfulness, engineering prowess, and business insight. His contributions have left a lasting impact on the communities he has served and those he has worked with. Lou has proven to be a remarkable husband, father, friend, colleague, engineer, and businessman, and those of us who know Lou are privileged to have been a part of his incredible journey. He has dedicated his career to providing safe, affordable, and innovative power to communities across the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. Lou’s journey began in 1972 when he moved to Missouri and started working as an engineer for an engineering company in Joplin. Since then, he has held several top leadership positions, including serving as President of two Midwest consulting engineering firms, engineering manager for an electric cooperative, and holds Professional Engineer licenses in ten states. Toth & Associates was established when Lou and his son, Adam Toth, decided to start a business together. Lou served as the company’s President from Congratulations Lou Toth on Your Retirement its inception until 2019 and as Director until 2023. His son assumed the role of President in 2019 and became the Director of the Board in 2023. Following his retirement on May 6, 2023, Lou will take on the role of Director Emeritus and continue to provide his valuable insights on special projects. Lou has shown unwavering commitment to rural electrification in his distinguished career spanning over 50 years. He has made significant contributions through his expertise in engineering planning and design efforts and rate analysis work. Lou has worked with close to a hundred electric utilities, facilitating the development of thousands of miles of electric infrastructure. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of power engineering, Lou has received several accolades, including the prestigious IEEE PES IAS A. P. Seethapathy Rural Electrification Excellence Award in 2020, which celebrates power engineers who have significantly contributed to developing innovative, efficient, and cost-effective electrical technologies that have greatly benefited rural communities worldwide. Lou was also honored in 2019 with the Jim McNabb Engineering Innovation Award by the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives,acknowledging his innovative thinking and contribution to the statewide rural electric grid. Lou’s legacy extends beyond his professional accomplishments. At TOTH, he has fostered a sense of family through compassionate leadership and leading by example. TOTH has become a family, and we appreciate Lou Toth for being our leader, mentor, role model, and friend.
