He has nine years of experience in investments and fi- nance, particularly working with high net worth clients, and most recently as chief investment officer for Pension Consultants Inc. Flores holds an MBA from Webster University and a bachelor’s in communica- tions from University of Arkansas. Construction Stiles Roofing Inc. foreman Arturo Lo- pez received the Roofing Alliance’s Best of the Best Award, recognizing contributions to the roofing industry and community. A native of Veracruz, Mexico, he’s worked his way up in the Lebanon company over a 26-year career. Part of the alliance’s Most Valuable Player Awards program, the award is chosen by an MVP Task Force. Education Missouri State University assistant soci- ology professor Kyler Sherman-Wilkins was selected as one of 11 Mellon Emerging Faculty Leaders for 2021 by the Institute for Citizens & Scholars. In recognizing ju- nior faculty members’ research on contem- porary American history, politics, culture and society, the honor highlighted Sher- man-Wilkins’ work titled, “Social Deter- minants of Cognitive Functioning Among Diverse Older Adults in the United States.” He received a $17,500 stipend toward ad- ditional research projects. The MSU Board of Governors inducted five former faculty and staff members to its Wall of Fame: Anson Elliott , Mike Jungers , James Moyer , Thomas Plym- ate and Mark Stillwell . With a combined 195 years of full-time service on cam- pus, the group joins 124 other individuals honored. Elliott built the school’s agricul- ture program and oversaw the acquisition of several facilities; Jungers was respon- sible for revising and enforcing student disciplinary actions and mentored student leaders; Moyer, a professor and student adviser, was an accomplished biblical scholar; Plymate, who worked in geologi- cal studies, is credited with helping to se- cure gifts to the university for scholarships and new instruments; and Stillwell worked with student athletes and sports programs and helped in the planning for six campus athletics facilities. Food Date Lady Inc. won gold in the barbe- cue and hot sauce category of the Specialty Food Association’s 2021 Sofi Awards. Date Lady Barbecue Sauce was one of 130 win- ners selected from nearly 1,500 entries across 49 product categories – judged in an anonymous sampling for taste, ingredient quality and innovation. Health Care CoxHealth was chosen among the 2021 Best Places to Work by Modern Health- care. Based on employee surveys, the selections are made in partnership with the Best Companies Group to recognize companies for improvements in work en- vironment, and employee engagement, sat- isfaction and retention. Media CBS affiliate KOLR10 hired Steve Sa- vard as news desk anchor. He previously worked as news anchor and sports direc- tor for KMOV in St. Louis and did radio play-by-play for the St. Louis Rams for 15 years. Savard holds six Emmy awards as a journalist. Technology Pearson-Kelly Technology added Aman- da Nevill as field sales manager and Bobby Overstreet as virtual chief information officer. Nevill has 15 years’ experience in technology industry sales, including soft- ware solutions and managed informa- tion technology services. Overstreet has worked for managed service providers and as an internal IT specialist during his 15-years tech career. He’s responsible for the technical infrastructure and overall environment for clients in southwest Mis- souri and northern Arkansas.
