SPRINGFIELD BUSINESS JOURNAL · 5 SEPT. 14-20, 2020 NEWS OPEN FOR BUSI SS Lenica Consulting Group LLC Courageous Family Group, a home-based consulting agency, changed its name March 30 to Lenica Consulting Group LLC. Monica Horton is the owner and sole employee for the 6-year-old venture, which she said was cer- tified July 10 as a minority- and woman-owned firm through Mis- souri’s Minority Business Enter- prise program. Horton said she was motivated to apply for state certification when she learned only nine minority-owned busi- nesses in Springfield were regis- tered. She said roughly $300 was spent to pursue the name and logo change in order to better align with company services. The firm pro- vides strategic planning, program evaluations and data analysis. Horton began work 15 years ago in the behavioral health field in Flor- ida before moving to Springfield in 2013. She earned a master’s degree in public administration from Mis- souri State University in 2015, and she said the experience inspired her to start a business.
