G IV I N G O P P O RT U N I T I E S Mission Statement Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks (BCFO) has provided help and hope to families facing breast cancer. Located in southwest Missouri, BCFO works with local communities to improve breast cancer screening rates and provide breast cancer families with the financial and emotional support they need. Service Area BCFO services counties in southwest Missouri, north- west Arkansas, as well as far southeastern Kansas and northeastern Oklahoma counties that border Missouri. Funding Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks receives funding by operating driver’s license offices in the greater Springfield and Joplin area. These endeavors allow BCFO to cover the overhead costs of the orga- nization, making sure the dollars raised by donations are used specifically for our programming purposes. Fundraisers such as A Time to Share, Pink Ribbon Gala in Joplin, Cycle for Life and Hooked on Dance, among others, provide many of those programming dollars. BCFO is also funded through other private and corpo- rate donations, planned gifts, as well as in-kind gifts. 12 Month Goals BCFO’s 12 month goals are to be able to provide more assistance to more families facing a breast cancer diagnosis. Too often, families go through treatment without realizing the help available to them. We want to be top of mind when that diagnosis comes through so we can start helping as early as possible. BCFO is also working to expand our free screening mam- mogram program into areas that we do not currently serve with that program, helping to reach even more uninsured and underinsured women in the Ozarks, making sure no one has an excuse to not get tested. How People and Businesses Can Help Donations are what allow us to continue to serve those in our community who need assistance through breast cancer treatment. Financial contributions by way of event sponsorships, stock transfers and planned giving gifts are key to BCFO being able to continue gifts for the next 20 years and beyond. The last few months have been hard and very unexpected. Cancer is full of so many unknowns and as a mom, it’s our nature to fix everything. This gift is the first time I’ve been able to breathe since the whole process has started. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My family thanks you too!” “I just want to thank you so much for your work in this community to help breast cancer patients like myself. This is the most painful and difficult physical chal- lenge I have ever faced. It just warms my heart that in the midst of this struggle and search for comfort, that there are real life individuals who really care enough to do something that really helps out, like paying my electric bill. This generous act has eased some of the financial stress on me and my family. But more than that, my heart is soothed by your genuine concern. Thank you so much.” “I wish there was more that I could say or do to show you how much of a blessing the Breast Cancer Foun- dation of the Ozarks has been to my family and me. You all have gone above and beyond to financially help our family. Being diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 30 came as a shocker for my family. It was very overwhelming, and you took a huge burden off our shoulders. Thank you for what you have done for our family and thank you for impacting and bless- ing other families.” B R E A S T C A N C E R F O U N DAT I O N O F T H E OZ A R K S A D D R E SS 62 0 W Re p u b l i c Ro a d S u i te 1 07, S p r i n g f i el d , M O 65 8 07 P H O N E 41 7- 8 62-3 8 3 8 W E B S I T E b c fo.o rg SO C IA L M E D IA fa ce b o o k .co m / Bre a st C a n ce r Fo u n d at i o n o f t h e O z a r k s TOTA L N U M B E R O F EM P LOY E E S 6 A N N UA L R E V E N U E S $ 3 , 7 3 0, 6 01 TO P E X EC U T I V E J oe D a u e s , C EO B OA R D O F D I REC TO R S C H A I R P E R SO N : J oh n Ru s s e l l B OA R D O F D I REC TO R S D e b i M u rray B e n n ett B r i a n B i g g e rs , M D D a n Co b b  M a r i b et h G a rd n e r D a n a H ave n s Ro g e r H old e n , M D A m a n d a L a c key, M D B r i a n M c C ra c ke n , Tre a s u re r R ya n O ’ Re i l l y D o u g Pa r ke r J oh n Ru s s e l l , P re s i d ent G a r y Sc ha fe r J a m i S kra d e, M D A n n e S m i d , M D J e s s i c a S n i d e r, D O, P re s i d e nt- E l e ct C a r l ye Wa n n e n m a c h e r Courtesy of BG Studio 20 2020 GIVING GUIDE SPRINGFIELD BUSINESS JOURNAL | ADVERTISING SUPPLEMENT
