Last year, Kincaid opened her own law firm with partnering attorney Angela My- ers after the two worked together at Ozarks Elder Law LLC. Kincaid and Myers’ firm, The Elder Law Group LLC, has kept busy since they opened its doors in August 2019, she says. “It’s really scary, but any business owner will tell you it’s scary to open your own business and hope that people show up at the door,” Kincaid says. 2018 JILL FINNEY, 40 Then: Vice President of Communications and Volunteers, United Way of the Ozarks Now: Executive Director, Safe and Sober Inc. Jill Finney transitioned from one non- profit to another in January when she took over as executive director of Safe and Sober Inc. She worked the previous three years for United Way of the Ozarks. “This has been a really good fit for me. Now: Executive Director, Discovery Center of Springfield Inc. Rob Blevins is introducing local kids to science that’s out of this world – even dur- ing a pandemic. As executive director of the Discov- ery Center of Springfield Inc. since 2018, Blevins led the charge to turn the science center into a child care facility for the families of essential health care workers. While McCon- nell’s position as media relations manager for CoxHealth hasn’t changed, she’s added book author to her resume. Her book, “Ozarks Road Trips,” came out in late October 2019 – it’s an extension of OzarksAlive.com, the website she founded and publishes. Since then, McConnell has been making community presentations about the book and the 61 places featured. She has been interviewed by St. Louis Public Radio and Missouri Life Magazine among other outlets, and Ozarks Alive was She currently serves on the boards for Foundation for Springfield Public Schools and Springfield Metropolitan Bar Associa- tion. She’s also a member of the steering committee of Respecting Choices of the Ozarks, an organization formed to help community members make well-informed choices about end-of-life care.
