His father said, figura- tively speaking, he was in a car going 100 miles an hour toward a cliff and the staff at Teen Challenge was crazy enough to get in it with him. Addiction and defiance brought him to our campus. While at TC he found hope and freedom in Christ. After graduating, he went on to have top-secret clear- ance in the US military, is married, is a father, and is now a police officer in Joplin. Mission Statement Our mission is to facilitate life transformation through Christ-centered programs for teenage boys dealing with life-controlling issues. Our faith-based Christian substance abuse programs works to develop teens mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Service Area We work with families over all 50 US states and fam- ilies with internationally adopted children. Over the last 11 years, we have seen students find freedom and family reconciliation from 49 of 50 states. The major- ity of the families we work with come from southern Missouri and the states bordering Missouri. Funding Our program funding comes from tuition, grants, churches, foundations, and individuals who support the youth of our future. We also tithe roughly 20% of our beds, meaning we give them to families who desperately need help, but don’t have the financial capacity to get it. Our capital campaign has been 100% donor and supporter driven. 12 Month Goals We are at capacity, so we are raising funds to build a new dormitory that will roughly double the capacity of our campus and also build a new academic and administrative building. The final leg of our capital campaign is to build a recreational facility and a chapel. We receive hundreds of desperate calls a year and currently only have 30 beds, all of which are full. Annual Events • Home of Hope Banquet - November 9, 2019 • Run for Hope 5k and Half Marathon - Tentatively April 18, 2020 How People and Businesses Can Help 1. Pray for us. Put a post-it note somewhere and lift us up in prayer every day. Pray for our students, their families, and direction for the staff on how to work with each unique student.  2. Volunteer. There are always projects happening on campus. Come out and spend time with us. 3 . Give. Our capital campaign will impact generations to come. Please consider how you can generously give to the completion of our campus development. 72 2019 GIVING GUIDE SPRINGFIELD BUSINESS JOURNAL | ADVERTISING SUPPLEMENT
