80% of Girl Scouts say they have a strong sense of self—that they’re confident in who they are and what they can do in the world. 70% of Girl Scouts say they got the chance to build their skills or try new outdoor activities because of Girl Scouts. 77% of girls say that because of Girl Scouts they are considering a career in technology. 90% of parents say their daughter has gained more new experiences through Girl Scouts than in other after school activities. We’re over 13,000 strong—over 9,000 girls and 4,000 adults who believe girls can change the world. It began over 100 years ago with one woman, Girl Scouts’ founder Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low. She organized the first Girl Scout troop in March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, and every year since, we’ve made her vision a reality, helping girls discover their strengths, passions, and talents. Today we continue the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. And with opportunities across our 67 counties, from southeast Kansas to central and southern Missouri and northeast Oklahoma, there’s a chance for every girl to do something amazing. These are the girls and young women who dream big and do bigger .
