Service Area Empower: abilities provides services in eight south- west Missouri counties including Christian, Dallas, Greene, Lawrence, Polk, Stone, Taney, and Webster. Funding Empower: abilities receives funding from various sources including fee for service, donations, and federal, state, and private grants. The organization also accepts in-kind contributions of goods. 12 Month Goals 1. To promote social change through organizing efforts and influencing an inclusive culture. • Disability awareness trainings and technical assis- tance to businesses, municipalities and other groups. • Develop community of self-empowered advocates and work in collaboration for higher impact. Create outreach strategies in each of our eight counties to include legislator engagement and participation. 2. Provide effective services to meet the needs of indi- viduals with disabilities. • Facilitate peer-to-peer support groups. • Host workshops and trainings based on current needs and issues. • Offer transition skills services for youth with dis- abilities. • Promote independence and empowerment at the forefront of all services provided. 3. Ensure the stability and longevity of empower: abilities.
