Rashmia Whack The Community Times Magazine April 2020-Page 49 R a shmia (Whack) Smith was raised in Florence, SC and attended the public schools of Florence School District 1. Upon graduation from West Florence High School in 2002, Rashmia attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC and Francis Marion University in Florence, SC. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ashford University with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration in 2011. Rashmia currently works as a Senior Customer Support Representative for Monster Worldwide, Inc (Monster job search website) in Florence, SC. She has been with the company for 7 years. In her role, Rashmia assists with back end account man- agement and support. “When I began work- ing for Monster, it wasn’t my initial dream job, but I have learned a great deal about website technology functions and the back- end processes employers go through when hiring.” Rashmia is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Florence, a program offered by the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, where she was able to network with fellow up-and- coming community leaders and learn more about the community. Rashmia’s favorite quote comes from Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” “It’s more than just a scripture to me, it’s how I’ve lived my life over the last 5 years. Nothing I have accomplished has been on my own, it has all been through the strength of Christ.” In her spare time, Rashmia spends quality time with her 2 daughters, aged 16 and 12. “I’ve learned a lot about who I am as a woman from both my daughters. Striving to be the best possible example for them has shaped my morals, goals, and beliefs.” Rashmia is a member of Anointed Word Bible Way Church in Timmonsville, SC, where she is a member of the Singles Ministry.
