Organization is located at 1320 W. Old 40 Highway, in the former outlet mall. Hours are Tuesday, 9-2, Thursday, 2-6, and the first Saturday of each month 9-12. Phone number is 816653-2048. Helping Hands, a 501(c)3 organization, has partnered with churches, individuals and civic organizations in the community for support. Its goal is to work closely with individuals and families who need help with food bundles, fresh produce, toiletries and household items. The organization also helps with back-to-school supplies and provides a Christmas store. Facility funding comes from individual and business donations, as well as fundraisers. Helping Hands became a Harvesters partner in February 2016. The Board of Directors is always looking for volunteers for both the office and to assist with fundraising. Board members are Mike Murry, president; Sherry Shull, vice president, Chris Fillpot, director, Sharon Dyer, secretary; Carol Sophy, treasurer, Dennis Hattey and Justin Meier.
