2023-2024 Odessa City Guide Page 45 Partners for Parks Service Partners for Odessa Parks and Recreation is a 501c3 driven by a single goal, to make Odessa a better place for all. Decisionmaking process is built around making the best possible use of limited resources to expand and improve Odessa’s local parks. Organization strives to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with its pursuits. Recently, Partners for Odessa Parks and Recreation installed two full sized pickleball courts at the entrance to Dyer Park. Organization has also purchased land for a new 77 acre park south of the current city limits. A master plan has been created for the park, and includes a civic center with indoor basketball courts, volleyball courts, pickleball courts, walking trail, indoor soccer and concessions area. Other projects the organization is working on for the future include shade protection over playground and basketball court benches at Chestnut Memorial Park, additional ball fields, soccer fields and playgrounds, walking and biking trails and a disc golf course. Organization holds an annual reverse raffle to raise funds for projects. Shade structures have been installed over seating at the ball fields and basketball court at Dyer Park as part of a Partners for Parks project. Odessa Partners for Parks unveiled plans for the future park south of town at its Reverse Raffle event in 2022. Plan includes soccer and ball fields, a civic center and a three acre lake.
