Cub scouting starts in first grade or age 7. Although scouting runs concurrent with the school year, a young person can join at any time. Cub Scout Pack has multiple dens, meeting once a month as a pack, then three times a month in individual dens. Cubmaster is Jamie Blystone. Marty Jenkins is committee chairman. Scouting Scout Troop 266 was founded in 1942 and is one of the most active troops in Jackson County. The Scouting troop Clubs GERRY FALLMAN, scoutmaster of Oak Grove Scouting Troop 266, accepts the award for non-profit organization of the year at the Oak Grove Chamber of Commerce awards banquet. The Scouts volunteer throughout the community and assist with numerous Chamber events. chartered at the Oak Grove Community of Christ Church, has more than 50 members and boasts more than 100 scouts reaching the rank of Eagle Scout through the years. An active high-adventure program includes backpacking in New Mexico, canoeing in northern Minnesota and attending the National Scout Jamboree.
