2020-2021 Focus on Oak Grove City Guide Page 55 Community Christmas celebration The City of Oak Grove has a rich tradition during the holidays. The first Saturday in December begins with a community event, Winter Wonderland held 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Fieldhouse, including a pancake breakfast with San- ta and a number of activities for children. Later, anyone may participate in the annual Christmas Parade which starts near dark and travels on Broadway to City Hall. The mayor and a special guest oversee the lighting of the Christmas tree after a reading from the middle school stu- dent council and a performance from the high school choir. Primary students make ornaments for the tree, and the other schools donate gifts to Community Services League. National Honor Society students serve hot chocolate and cookies to those in attendance.
