State House District 32 includes the northern part of Oak Grove as well as parts of Grain Valley and Blue Springs. Jeff Coleman, R-Grain Valley, was elected in 2018. Coleman is a financial advisor who specialized in retirement income. Coleman served as mayor pro tem on the Grain Valley Board of Aldermen and served as the vice president of the Grain Valley School Board for seven years. He served as president of the Grain Valley Economic Development Corporation and the Grain Valley Industrial Development Committee. District 33 includes the southern portion of Oak Grove, parts of Grain Valley and Blue Springs as well as Harrisonville and Pleasant Hill. Donna Pfautsch, R-Harrisonville, reached the end of her term limit this year. A successor will be elected in November. District 53 encompasses all of Lafayette County as well as parts of Jackson and Johnson counties. Glen Kolkmeyer, R-Odessa, reached his term limit this year. A successor will be elected in November. State Senate District 8 represents southeastern Jackson County, including Oak Grove, in the State Senate. Mike Cierpiot, R-Lee’s Summit, was elected November 2017 in a special election. He served seven years in the Missouri House of Representatives where he served as the assistant majority floor leader for three years and was later elected to serve as the majority floor leader until the end of his tenure. District 21 includes Caldwell, Carroll, Howard, Johnson, Lafayette, Livingston, Ray and Saline Counties. Denny Hoskins, R-Warrensburg, was elected to the senate in 2016. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2008 and elected to the office of speaker pro tem in 2013. He is a CPA specializing in auditing for not-for-profit, governmental and farming entities.
