2018-2019 Focus on Oak Grove City Guide Page 60 Clubs Cub & Boy Scouts Oak Grove Cub Scout Pack 266 was founded in 1951 and has been chartered at Grace United Methodist church since 1987. Cub scouting starts in first grade or age 7. Although scouting runs concurrent with the school year, a boy can join at any time. The Cub Scout Pack has multiple dens, meeting once a month as pack, then three times a month in their individual dens. Pack 266 has consistently earned the National Quality Award and the National Summertime Activity Award. Cubmaster is Marty Jenkins and assistant cubmaster Cody Abel. Scouting Scouting Troop 266 was founded in 1942 and is one of the most active troops in Jackson County. The Scouting troop chartered at the Oak Grove Community of Christ Church, has more than 50 members and boasts more than 100 scouts reaching the rank of Eagle Scout through the years. An active high-adventure program includes backpacking in New Mexico, canoeing in northern Minnesota and attending the National Scout Jamboree. The year-round camping program has helped Troop 266 earn the National Camping Award 43 consecutive years and the National Quality Unit Award for 43 consecutive years. Scouting Troop 7266, the first troop to incorporate girls in the program, was founded February 1, 2019. The scoutmaster is Debbie Wilkinson, and Brook Wangwe is the committee chairman.
