2019-2020 Focus on Oak Grove City Guide Page 4 City Mayor & Board of Aldermen Brad Alexander, alderman ward two, was appointed in 1997 to fill a vacant seat, was elected in 1998, and reelected ten times.  He also serves as mayor pro tem.  Alexander is a lifelong Oak Grove resident and graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1975. He holds a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri. He is a retired sergeant from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department. His wife, Sue, is president of the Oak Grove R-6 School District Board of Education.  Jeremy Martin, mayor, was first elected in 2014 and is serving his third term as mayor of Oak Grove. Martin grew up in Independence, is a 1995 graduate of Truman High School and attended Longview Community College.  He and his wife have lived in Oak Grove since 2009 with their two daughters, Presley and Madysen who attend Oak Grove High School. Martin’s wife, Jamie is a 1995 graduate of Oak Grove High School. She is a teacher in the Holden school district.  He is a project manager for Schindler Elevator.  Jeremy Martin Mayor 906 SW Powell Drive 816-679-2106 Jeremy Taylor, alderman ward one, was elected to his fourth term in April 2018 and has been a resident of Oak Grove since 2003.  He grew up in Blue Springs and is a 1996 graduate of Blue Springs South High School. Taylor attended Northwest Missouri State University and the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Park University in 2009. Taylor is currently employed by Commerce Trust Company, a division of Commerce Bank. Taylor’s wife, Shari is a 1998 graduate of Oak Grove High School and works at St. Luke’s Hospital. The Taylors have a daughter, Alex and a son, Jake. Taylor has served on the Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) and the Oak Grove Planning and Zoning Commission. Brandy Carroll, alderman ward one, was elected to her first term on the Board of Al- dermen this year. Carroll is a 2000 graduate of Oak Grove High School. She works as an emergency technicianatNorthKansasCityHospitaland has a paramedicine degree. She is studying to become an emergency registered nurse. Carroll’s husband,Matthew,is also a para- medic. They have four children, Kade, Kally, Gray and Hank. Carroll has previously served on the aquat- ic center steering committee. Kelly Nadeau, alderwoman ward two, has served on the board since 2017.  Nadeau grew up in Blue Springs and attended Blue Springs High School, graduating in 1998. Na- deau graduated magna cum laude from Park University with a bachelor of science degree in December 2017. She moved to Oak Grove in 2002 with her husband, Jamie, a 1998 graduate of Oak Grove High School. They have a daughter, Jayden and a son, Gavin.
