Within the commons area, a central staircase with escalators on both sides has required consistent maintenance. In its place, project architect Paragon Architecture LLC have redesigned the stairs and removed the escalators; a large collaboration space will be created above the existing stairs, connected by two recreational slides. The $100,000 project’s general contractor is Hambey Construction LLC, and it’s slated for completion in May. The Funplex in northern New Jersey features an indoor go-kart track, amusement rides and games, a 14-lane bowling alley and a six-lane VIP bowling lounge. The VIP lounge plays off a modern industrial vibe, while the main area picks up on a vintage New Jersey shoreline amusement park, according to project architect Nathan Rapp of Insight Design Architects LLC. The 35,000-square- foot remodel includes electrical work by Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; and Blanchard AE Group LLC (Lawrence, Kansas), mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project, with undisclosed costs, is set for completion in May. Springfield Expedia Collaboration Stair 5000 W. Kearney St. The Funplex East Hanover, New Jersey ARCHITECTS ARCHITECTS
